About Me

Hello! I'm Barakat. I recently completed my master’s degree in Lithuania, where I lived for two years. Before that, I spent four months in Turkey. Currently, I live in Olpe, Germany. I'm learning German—it's not an easy language! I speak English, Arabic, and Kurmanji.

Activities I Enjoy
I love playing volleyball, beach volleyball, ping pong, PlayStation games, cards, badminton, and chess (though I’m not very good at chess!). Hiking and bike riding are also activities I enjoy.

I'm an open-minded person eager to learn new things and ideas. I tend to be quiet until I sense that the other person is interested in talking. I enjoy waking up early and staying up late, making the most of both the day and night.

Fun Facts
I only remember two Lithuanian words: "Ačiū" (thank you) and "Šalti balti," which means "green and white" in support of the Kaunas basketball team.

I forget names very easily, so please bear with me!

I’m not too into social media, preferring face-to-face interactions and real-life experiences.

Looking forward to meeting you and sharing great experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because it's a fantastic platform for traveling and experiencing different cultures. Meeting locals and fellow travelers enriches my journeys and allows me to share and learn from diverse perspectives. I love traveling and that's why I'm here. Although I'm not hosting guests at the moment, I'm excited to meet up, share experiences, and explore together.

Interests

I love animals, especially dogs, horses, and various types of birds. I'm an avid reader, and my favorite books include works by Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx, but "1984" by George Orwell tops the list. Music is a big part of my life, and I especially enjoy summer nights with friends playing instruments and singing together.
